The Korean Academy of Conservative Dentistry was founded in 1959 in accordance with article 57 of the Korean Dental Association Constitution. The academy seeks to improve conservative dentistry and to promote friendship among its members. It is committed to the excellence of the field by promoting research, presentation, publication, and exchange of its knowledge.
Conservative Dentistry is the branch of dentistry which is concerned with the conservation of teeth in the mouth. It encompasses the practice of restorative dentistry and endodontics, and includes various kinds of direct and indirect restorations of individual teeth in the mouth.
Primary goal of Conservative Dentistry includes the diagnosis and treatment of sequelae of dental caries and includes the techniques and procedures to restore the teeth to full function and appearance in an aesthetically pleasing manner with as little loss of healthy tooth structure as possible. It also involves performing root canal treatment and associated surgical procedures. The treatment provided include various restorative treatment, non-surgical and surgical endodontics, endodontic implants, tooth bleaching, and management of traumatized teeth. |
