Guideline for Reference and Citation
Journal of Fashion Business
¢º Reference materials must be clearly presented in English.
¢º A reference list is arranged in the alphabetical order of the family name of each author and every content cited from a reference needs to be related the main content of a manuscript. What are not mentioned in reference citation rules shall follow APA Style Manual (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association).
¢º Footnotes shall be used only in case it is definitely needed. When footnotes are needed, they shall be marked as adding a series of numbers at the top right side of the phrase and their content shall be shown at the bottom of each page. And a reference can't be cited in the form of an endnote.

¡á In-text citation

1. When the name of an author is mentioned in the content.

1) When the number of authors is less than two
¡¤ Park and Ryu (2012)...
¡¤ ... (Park & Ryu, 2012).
¡¤ Research by Wegener and Petty (1994) supports...
¡¤ ... (Wegener & Petty, 1994).

2) When the number of authors is between 3-5, In case of the first citation, every authors' names are mentioned and since then 'et al.' needs to be used with the name of the first author.
¡¤ In case of the first citation: Walker, Allen, Bradley, Rmirez, and Soo (2008)...
... (Walker, Allen, Bradley, Rmirez, & Soo, 2008).
¡¤ In case of further citations: Walker et al. (2008)...
... (Walker et al., 2008).

3) In case there are more than six authors, the name of the first author is mentioned followed by et al. (In the reference list, if there are publications by eight or more author's names, then insert three ellipses, and add the last author¡¯s name.)
¡¤ Harris et al. (2001) argued ...
¡¤ ... (Harris et al., 2001).

4) In case of a direct citation, the author's name, the publish year and the relevant page are mentioned between parentheses at the end of the cited part. When the cited part is within two lines (in case of English, less than 40 words), citation mark " " needs to be used and in other cases, those cited parts need to be mentioned separately from the content. In case of being mentioned separately, the top and the bottom of the cited part shall be emptied by a line and for each side, indent the cited part by as many as 3 words. But, in case there is no page such as electronic sources, the shortened form of paragraph, para is used when each paragraph is expressed very distinctively.

¡¤ Smith (2003) states, "managers need a detailed understanding of the communication process to be effective in the workplace" (p. 12).

5) When more than two advanced researches are cited at the same time, the names of head authors are mentioned in their alphabetical order.

6) In case the author can't be identified only by the surname because they have the same one, the initial of the author's frist name shall be mentioned. Even when the initial of the first name is the same, then their full first name needs to be added.

2. Unknown Author (Book, Guidebook, Report etc.): Begin the entry with the work's title and titles of books are italicized.
¡¤ ..are mentioned in 2006 SR Index (2007)

3. In case the author is not a person but the institution and it is cited more than twice, for the first citation write down the initials with [ ] in a parenthesis. And for further citation only initials are mentioned.
2nd Reference: After the name of the original author, present the source of reference in parentheses
¡¤ United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (2003)... ¡¤ In case of being cited more than twice
- for the first citation: United Nations Conference on Trade and Development ([UNCTD], 2003) ...
- for the second citation: UNCTD (2003)... / ... (UNCTD, 2003).

4. Translation: After the name of original author, add the original date of the work's publication and the date of translation in parentheses at the end of the entry.

5. In case some materials are recited, show the name of the original author and present the source of recited part in a parenthesis.
¡¤ ...From the result of Zeitthaml (as cited in Park, 2008)....

6. In case of articles in a newspaper, journals or internet, it needs to put the main words of the title in ¡° ¡± and add the year.

7. In case of a patent, add the patent number and the patented date (not application date)

6) When the writings of the first author with the same family name and other several authors are used, they need to be mentioned in the alphabetical oder of authors¡¯ family name.
